Announcer / Presenter
Do you have a desire to share your interest in a particular music style and/or community affairs
Job Description
Work Pattern: Any day or evenings
Hours/session: 2 to 3 hours 'on air' plus an equivalent time doing voluntary work in & around the station
Line of Reporting: Station Co-ordinator or Programme Collective Co-ordinator
Skills Training: is given before Presenters go 'on air'. And speakers training workshops on request
Duties may include:
Prepare programme material in advance
Arrange interviews (where appropriate for the programme)
Advise Internet Co-ordinator of programme special details for inclusion on station website
Announce programmes, music and entertainment items
Read community service announcements and ‘what's on' information
Play recorded sponsorship and community announcements
Write up programme schedule sheets and music log sheets
Attend Programme Collective meetings

News Presenters
Are you interested in news and current affairs?
Job Description
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday (two or more people to share this work)
Hours/session: 2 to 3 hours - either early morning or early evening to suit volunteers.
Line of Reporting: Breakfast Programme Co-ordinator and daily Breakfast Programme Presenter
Skills: Good writing skills and an interest in News and local community affairs
Training: Informal training will be given on the job
Duties may include:
Write local News reports and broadcast these
Some interviews / voice grabs
Material obtained from a variety of sources
Advantages for the Volunteer:
Experience in Radio Journalism

Learn about radio production such as adds and voice-overs
Meet new people and contribute to your community
Reception / Secretary / Office Administration
Job Description
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday (two or more people to share this work)
Hours/session: 9 am to 5 pm
Line of Reporting: Daily Coordinator
Skills: People skills (pleasant manner), Telephone skills (phone technique and manners) and Elementary computer skills
Duties may include:
Represent 2BOB Radio to the public (dress: smart casual)
Meet & greet visitors to the Station
Answer telephone, forward calls and take messages & sort emails
Listen for ‘Dead Air' on radio and immediately alert the Presenter
Filing and typing (word processing)
Photocopying
Type (and copy) meeting minutes, memos and notices
Distribute to people's mail boxes.
Collecting mail from P.O. Box and processing postal mail
Manage and purchase Stationery
Ensure FAX machine has sufficient paper each evening

Computing & Internet Technology:
Job Description
Work Pattern: Monday / Wednesday / Friday (one or more people to share this work)
Hours/session: 2 to 3 hours
Line of Reporting: Station Co-ordinator and/or I.T. Co-ordinator (Systems)
Skills: Elementary computer skills
Training: Some informal computer training will be given
Duties may include the following:
Update various data bases - subscribers, sponsors
Create any word processing documents required (e.g. letters, sponsorship submissions, etc)
Update any Manuals used within the Station
Update the Anti-Virus software Virus definition data files weekly
Programme Schedule data base
Internet: Enter programme and interviewees information into relevant web site Forums, manage emails (print, circulate, forward as required)
Type email replies as instructed and send, make simple changes to website as required.

Maintenance / Cleaning
Job Description:

Monday and Thursday 2-3 hours
Line of Reporting: Station Co-ordinator
Weekly duties include:
Vacuum clean all carpeted areas
Empty waste baskets into ‘Wheely Bin'
Check cleaning supplies
Bathrooms - Hand basin, toilet, mop floor, check toilet paper
Kitchen - wash up, wipe benches and mop floor etc
Monthly cleaning may include:
Clean windows and general cleaning
Defrost refrigerator
Clean kitchen cupboards
Clean stove and oven
Advantages for the Volunteer:

Experience in commercial cleaning
