Trulli are unique to Puglia and these mysterious buildings, with their thick limestone walls and conical roofs, originate from many hundreds of years ago. Roughly circular in shape, they are normally built from solid limestone blocks. Whilst the modern builder uses 'Calcio', a limestone mortar, to seal the spaces between the rocks, in olden times Trulli would have been built, 'a seco', or 'dry', meaning that no mortar was used. The thick walls helped to keep the Trullo cool during the very hot summers and warm during the cool, damp winters.
Tortellini are ring-shaped pasta, sometimes described too as "navel shaped", hence their alternative name of "belly button" (umbellico). They are typically stuffed with a mix of meat (pork loin, prosciutto) or cheese. Originally from the Italian region of Emilia (in particular Bologna and Modena), they are usually served in broth, either of beef, chicken, or both.Tortellini are now commonly found all around the world.
Packed, refrigerated or frozen, tortellini and tortelloni (similar but larger and with vegetable stuffing) appear in many locations around the world, especially where there are large Italian communities. Tortellini and tortelloni are made in special industrial lines supplied all over the world by Italian companies such as Arienti & Cattaneo, Ima, Ostoni, Zamboni, etc.; "fresh" packed tortellini usually have 7 weeks of shelf-life

Fresh organic home grown Figs.........the best..
Figs remind me of all the summers spent harvesting these tasty fruits.
My dad would cover the trees with netting or cages so that the birds would
not get to them before us. This would happen in nearly every Italian
household in and around Sydney.
My dad still does this, and eating these figs was heavenly.
